Lately I've been wondering if the title of my blog "From New York to Geneva" is correct. I'm beginning to doubt of it. Somehow, I started this blog, in a first moment, to share my experience in Geneva, but I think my experience, as always happens, just never end up in a place.
I think "From New York to Geneva" is just one more chapter in this journey called life, and in my case, as always happens, my journey always comes with surprises and unexpected changes... Thats the beauty of life though, if not, how boring Life would be, right?
Sometimes I wonder if someday I will settle down, find a place where I really feel at home, a job and find my emotional and economic stability. Someone very special told me recently that we all move because we are looking for answers, because we seek something powerful enough to make us want to stop and settle down. I completely agree, in the end, what matters is not the place, what matters is the people, and is the people the ones who make us move or stay.
As you guys can see, something has happened in the recent weeks that it has taken a 180 degree turn to all my plans. I wasnt expecting something like that at this time of my life, but somehow, I have to admit that I wanted it. Something that started in January in Murcia while organizing my trip to Geneva and, to be honest, did not pay much attention at first, but it was there, strong and latent.
In my last entry, I ended by saying that life is full of accidental probabilities and we must be aware of that. Im truly convinced of that. Sometimes, a split second in your life, be in the right place at the right time, a simple exchange of glances, might change your plans, and therefore, your life to a greater or lesser extent, but also, the decisions we make To be able to recognize that moment, have the courage to turn around and not stay with the doubt of what might have been, is something that I deeply admire in a person. I really believe that if you remain open and positive to the energy that is all around you, this rewards you with opportunities, with probabilities, which may be accidental, or not, unwittingly provoke, but ultimately they provide you options, options that you take or leave, depending on how receptive or awake you are.
Here you go this reflection to make you guys think a litlle bit. Can't tell more for now, but I promise I will keep you apdated in this matter. For now, I'll go forward with my experience in Geneva.
Me encanta mi habitación.
I finally got apartment in Geneva. As predicted, the English lady called me the same Tuesday accepting me as a tenant. This has been one of the best news I could have because I was running out of time and I was starting to despair with this matter.
I love my room. It is large, spacious, with lots of light, a huge bed and a sofa bed, but what most called my attention was a painting on the wall opposite to my bed. A huge red heart with an inscription of love, probably from someone who, being away from his dear love, wanted to leave a mark with this beautiful gift to wake up and remember every morning how greatful he was for being loved. Now, Im the lucky one to wake up every morning looking at this painting, and thinking that Im grateful for all I have and all the people I love.
It's that a coincidence? Its that a sign? For me it is clear, in this life coincidences doesn't exist... everything happen for a reason.
The same day I got my apartment, I had a meeting with the director of the master of architecture to see registration dates and introduce myself. I was at the presentation of the new semester. Actually I felt a little discouraged because, if I'm honest, I didnt understand a word, jejejeje... of course the presentation was all in French. Sometimes I wonder why I like to complicate my life like this ... is the desire of beating myself? is the desire for learning? Or maybe it's the intrigue of crossing new barriers like when you go from one level to another in Candy Crush. You never know what challenges await you at the next level, but you know it will be more difficult than the previous ones ... I think I learned very well to expand my comfort zone and Put it into practice, and now I dont know how to stop, jejejeje... I highly recommend you to watch this video, it will help you understand what I'm talking about but most of all, it will help you to overcome those fears that are always there latent and surrounding us.
(sorry guys, I couldnt find version in english) : (

mejorando, poco a poco.
Anyway, we'll see where it fits, and if it fits this idea of master in this new "change of plans" lol ... For the moment if I want to apply, I have to do it in May, so I have time enough to decide.
For another hand, in these two weeks, I have seen that my French is improving gradually. Even I started to think that the french classes were not enough, so I started studying on my own as well. But, what really worries me, is to find a job. Even Though I start looking for a job officially three days ago, I'm gettiing despair, lol ... I know, I'm very impatient but I already have gone to all employment agencies (does not take much time to kick Geneva, four streets, lol ...) and everywhere I left my resume, I had the feeling that they were going directly into the trash, and saying that if in five weeks I have not heard of them bring it back ... Excuse me? Ladies and gentlemen, I need fucking job right now! jejejejeje... Anyway, as always, patience is a virtue, sometimes I lose, like everyone else.
The truth is that I dont believe in finding a job along the street leaving resumes. I believe in meeting people, make contacts and spread the word. This always reports you an opportunity where you can start. The rest is a matter of "work your ass off" jejeje... So, as far as it goes, I'm pretty quiet, and, even though I have everything against and look all black, I have a feeling I'll find something soon.
In these two weeks has also given me time to do some sightseeing and ckeck the high-speed TGV train. Unexpectedly I spent February 14 with someone very special in a very special place. Paris had been for me another city I had visited a couple of times already, but this time it was quite different.
As said earlier, no matter the place but the people, and this trip to the city of love, has changed my priorities fairly.
It was an amazing experience and enriching to see the city through someone who has lived most of his life there and with a adorable and lovely little person with the innocent eyes of seeing things for the first time. It was so magical and natural that I'm looking forward to see them again soon...
Love is the key! Call me crazy...
tentaciones, secretos, frustraciones, trabajo, fiestas, amigos, cenas, viajes,
Dominicana) Its Britney, bitch!!.
Mi
mejor amigo, tu mejor amigo, siempre…
My best friend, Your best friend, always ...
paco! i'm so happy to read that you've found a lovely place to call home! i'll be thinking of you as you make your transition! xo
